LEADERS IN SAFETY FOOTWEAR AND WORKWEAR DISTRIBUTION

SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMME

Sustainability is the focus of our own future. Of course we have lessons to learn, and work to do to embrace sustainability within our business, but we are making this a main aim for the next few years.

By the end of 2023, we are looking to remove all plastic bags that we currently provide our workwear garments in from our business and replace these with recycled alternatives.

By 2024 and moving forwards, we will ensure all elements in our Safety Footwear that can be made with recycled alternatives will be. As we are producing the footwear to reach a safety standard we have to ensure the product performs to its duty. Therefore, we will not be able to make all components recycled straight away but, we will take steps to implement sustainable materials where we can.

The factories and suppliers we work with are audited to the global recycled standards (GRS). The GRS are international, voluntary standards. They set requirements for third party certification of recycled input and chain of custody. The audit also includes additional criteria for social and environmental processing requirements and chemical restrictions.

We at Sterling promise to work our way towards making sustainability and environmental protection a part of everything we do.
